Hills Young Innovator of the Year Award now open

Young inventors across the country should enter the Hills Young Innovator of The Year Award now to have their innovative new designs recognized by the country’s peak information technology association.
Hills Ltd is the proud sponsor of this award that identifies great ideas from people under the age of 25 across cloud, mobile and data.
“Hills is built on the bedrock of uniquely Australian innovation and that’s why we’re proud to sponsor the next generation of young inventors and foster their talent,” Hills Chief Technology Officer, Leica Ison, said.
The national winner of the Hills Young Innovator Award will receive $10,000 and secure the chance to participate in Hills’ unique Pitch Day. State winners will receive $5000 in prize money. Hills ‘Pitch Day’ event sees innovators from all over the country submit their prototypes for development consideration.
“Hills is committed to developing a culture of innovation in the Australian business community, identifying talent early and nurturing it. Good ideas are the start of ground breaking inventions. The rest of it is hard work and time.
“Hills wants to provide real practical support and guidance for young innovators in these areas,” Leica Ison said.

Last year’s winner Elliott Smith was an electrical engineering graduate from the University of Queensland who had designed a breathing exercise app and device for cystic fibrosis patients to use at home.
The Hills Young Innovator of the Year Award is part of the Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA) annual iAwards.
